Mission Statement
Accepted Consulting was founded on the principle that academia should be accessible to all.
“Accepted” is not just about gaining acceptance to top-tier universities and graduate programs but to also gain acceptance inside and outside the academy. Our team is dedicated to producing services, products, and resources which cover the spectrum of undergraduate and postgraduate admissions, along with research, information about funding opportunities, how to have one’s work published, etc. in order to assist upcoming scholars along their academic journeys.
Scholarly Community
In addition to the various services we provide, Accepted Consulting is also a space where aspiring scholars can find support and community.
With the launch of Accepted Society, our teams seeks to connect members with accountability workshops, networking nights, masterclasses, and mentorship calls! Within this group, we hope to foster community accountability and to generate friendships & scholarly discussion. From events where our members can workshop their current research to group study sessions, we seek to hold space for friendship and support across disciplines and across far reaching geographies.
Equity
Here at Accepted Consulting we are dedicated to access and affordability. While many other consulting firms charge thousands of dollars for one-on-one consultations, we aim to maintain a price point which is accessible to all students.
Testimonials
“I discovered Accepted Consulting thanks to Kaelyn’s Youtube videos which introduced me to the complex and lengthy graduate school admission process. My dream was to study for a master's degree at Oxford, and I thus asked Kaelyn for advice to make sure my statement would be as strong as possible. Besides the kindness and support she showed during our meeting, her thorough review and pertinent remarks allowed me to clarify different aspects of my essay, ultimately helping me craft a statement of purpose I was confident about.” - Client Accepted to the MSc in Visual, Material and Museum Archeology at the University of Oxford)
“Coming into the graduate admissions process with no real idea of what to do, Kaelyn and Accepted Consulting made the process so simple and seamless. Kaelyn’s expertise in constructing statements of purpose really helped me navigate the essay writing process and synthesize all my thoughts and experiences into cohesive essays tailored towards each school I was applying to. Overall, I was accepted into 3 of my top choices for my program, and would highly encourage anyone who is thinking of applying to graduate school to reach out to Kaelyn and Accepted!” - Justin Ricket (Accepted to the MPH at UCLA, Brown, and Boston University)
"Where to begin with how helpful Kaelyn was in my journey getting into top Ph.D. programs. I'll start by saying that mine was an odd case, one many told me would be impossible to overcome. At the time I decided I wanted to get my Ph.D. (which is in the History of Science and the History of Art), I was a practicing curator living in New York City working at contemporary art galleries. This might sound appealing, but in my field, working in a commercial setting for four years is not viewed as a good thing. In fact, it is typically viewed as very negative by academics. Why? Well, it means I had been out of academia for a long time and established a career for myself that in the eyes of many meant that I would not take the Ph.D. seriously or for that matter that I was not really interested in becoming a professor. To make things worse, I had a master's degree from a conservatory that is also linked to a commercial entity and not respected by the Ivy Leagues. And, my undergraduate degree was from a state university (a good one but nonetheless).
I was, however, determined. I had been writing and reading on my own time for years and was genuinely passionate about the field and how I could change it, both as an academic and as a curator. Kaelyn believed in me too, and she was one of the first. She greatly helped me edit my writing sample—which was on a very controversial topic—and gave me suggestions about the process of applying that were invaluable. She related her experience to my own, which helped me to understand what I would need to do to break down the barriers of what is a convoluted game of Ph.D. applying and networking. Today, I am writing this from the University of Cambridge, where I am completing the top one-year research program in my field, and have been admitted to Princeton for my Ph.D.—I was even awarded the Presidential Fellowship. I can confidently say that these milestones would not have been possible without Kaelyn's consultation. I would recommend her to anyone who is applying to graduate school, especially those who think their case to be unusual." - Client Accepted to the PhD in History of Art at Princeton University & the University of Cambridge)
“I contacted Accepted Consulting as someone positive that I wanted to pursue a doctorate but unsure of how to shape my applications. After Kaelyn's input, I was able to confidently arrange all of my materials, incorporate her edits and advice, and feel genuinely proud of what I submitted. So far I've received one acceptance with full funding and have an interview at my top-choice program coming up and I am beyond thrilled! I can't overstate how grateful I am to have had guidance from the team at Accepted, and I urge future applicants to take advantage of the opportunity to learn how to best present themselves and unlock the academic possibilities that they deserve.” - Client Accepted to a PhD in Criminology at Florida State University)
